Food at Sleeping Bear Hotels

Food at Sleeping Bear Hotels

Food is at the heart of Sleeping Bear Hotels. We are lucky enough to have Head Chef Xavier Picquenot, The Moonraker Hotel who trained in France and worked under Marco Pierre White and loves seasonal cooking. At The Stanton Manor Head Chef James uses his expert knowledge of fresh ingredients to create his menus.

Both Head Chef’s use local suppliers and ingredients from the onsite kitchen gardens to create delicious dishes. Our menus have a brasserie feel to them and include a few old favourites as standard.

Kitchen Gardens, Smokery & Livestock

The kitchen gardens are a real focus for the kitchen. The herbs, fruit and vegetables that are gown go straight into the menu designs of both our Head Chefs.

Wander out to the paddock at The Moonraker and you will find our own chickens (and a turkey or two) that supplement the eggs we buy locally.

At both The Stanton Manor and The Moonraker we have five hives producing honey, that is used to make the homemade flapjacks that are given to every guest when they arrive at the hotel.

Our homemade honey is available to purchase from reception so why not take home a jar of Sleeping Bear Hotel honey.

Afternoon Tea

Come and enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in the countryside of Wiltshire. Take a gentle stroll to visit our Beehives, followed by a relaxing afternoon tea for two waiting for you on our terrace and enjoy the view of our gardens.

For those wintery spells, our cosy snug is the perfect location to devour our homemade cakes. With a choice of loose leaf speciality teas and fair trade coffee to sit back and watch the world go by.
